
I am not making sense of today’s allegory in Ezekiel. What does resonate for me is the use of nature—eagles, vines, fertile soil—to explain God to the agrarian Israelites. Long before the sacred texts were written and readily available, we clamored for stories shared around the campfire. We also learned about Creator through the natural world. We still do.
