Day 25

We saw an interesting and timely movie the other night. Goodness and Holy Human Spirit shone through several times during the film even given the setting amidst abominable acts of war. Rob immediately gave it a “++” score and asked, “Who can we share this one with now?”

Wed – Mar 30, 2 Kings 4:1-7 Luke 9:10-17 Psalm 53

Day 24

Once upon a time Rob was driving while I read Revelation aloud. At 60 miles per hour, it was as if we flew down the straight road under a long arch of trees. The sun shone through the leaves becoming dappled light dancing on the page. We had created the sensation of a light show with special effects beyond belief. Given the fantastic story, superheroes, villains and angels circled around us.

Sometimes if I squint my eyes, something equally majestic will show up out of nowhere and the simplest, most ordinary things become celestial.

Tue – Mar 29, Leviticus 25:1-19 Revelation 19:9-10 Psalm 53

Day 23 – Speaking of Festivals

Recently we celebrated with others from the dance and cathedral communities. After three years in sanctuary, Jaime and his family can finally safely move home together.

I was in Ecuador when they came to St. Mark’s. I imagined getting to know them while practicing Spanish. My Spanish-fluent son advised though, “If you really want to become friends, use the strongest language between you.”

Who knew that would be the language of beekeeping? Jaime, Keiko and Yoshi have been Rob’s co-apiarists all this time. And we, including our buzzing friends, are better off because of it.
