Maybe someday I’ll learn why the lectionaries of our churches don’t line up exactly. Today though it’s Thursday, time for Zoom Morning Prayer. Blessed be, the Lutherans brought me a favorite from Isaiah: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” And, where the prayer book says a song may be sung, the Episcopalians brought me “Precious Lord.” Double blessed be.
